Greek “psyche” (soul) & “Mentron” (measure). Coined by Joseph R. Buchanan
I use psychometry with every reading I do with my
Tarot Cards. At the beginning of our reading I will hand the client my deck of cards to hold, look through and shuffle. When they are doing this, they are impregnating the cards with their energy,
aura, thoughts and vibrations. Once the cards are back in my hands I can just hold them and continue the reading for them through psychometry with the cards.
Just holding the cards in my hands feeds me enough energy to start the reading, sometimes I don’t even lay the cards down onto the table. There is no need if I can read without doing so. You can hold an object and feel through all senses and thoughts. You may get feelings, smells, sensations, or visions.
Psychometry is listed in the same category as scrying. This is a way to “see” something that is not visible. Some research has been done on the theory of psychometry resulting in two different conclusions. Some scientist feel it is vibrations left behind by actions or emotions that surrounded the object and other scientist state it is the energy from someone’s aura surrounding the object. I feel they are both right conclusions in their own way. The aura is and can be very alive and full of vibrations at times. This energy field can effect any object with impressions.
If you were to hold the watch of a man who wore it everyday, then the energy left behind would be strong and full of the emotions and life of that man. If you were to put your hands on the wall of a strangers kitchen you would be able to sense many impression left there from company to meals. When working with a crime scene, psychometry is a powerful tool to draw out the energies of the situations that may have taken place in such a kitchen.
Many clients look to psychics to hold rings and jewelry of the loved ones they have lost. The energy left behind in those articles are most comforting to people. The psychic impression from them are most unique. Depending on how strong the energy surrounding the object is results in how easy or hard it is to read into. Practicing on article of antiques from family members is a close way to start. Asking someone to give you an object to test yourself is also a good way.
The information you receive when using the technique of psychometry is going to come to you in all the psychic ways. You will use your 5 senses to gather the information into communicable words. You could smell or see something, and you will have to interpret that information in basic form even if it is not understandable until told to the client. Be confident and explore.
