Sydney- Instead of looking for the body of a 6-year-old, an aboriginal leader in Australia found the dismembered body of an older woman in a wooded location outside Sydney.
The aboriginal woman, who says she has psychic visions, had long been looking for Kiesha Abrahams. The girl disappeared almost two weeks ago from her suburban Sydney home. Instead, a headless, limbless body along a creek west of the city was found on Wednesday. This was according to Pamela Young, New South Wales State Detective Chief Inspector.
“I’ve had a feeling to go there. So I went with my gut feeling,” Cheryl Carroll-Lagerwey told Australia’s Nine News.
Though officials are still trying to identify the body, they strongly believe that this was the remains of one Kristi McDougall, 31 years old, who disappeared two months ago. She told her friends she was going to the western Sydney suburb of Ermington.
“For those who believe in such things [psychics] , I understand the woman thinks she might have some (psychic) powers. There was a thought in her mind, apparently, that her coming here might help that particular case, but it hasn’t. It’s quite unusual circumstances that has brought us here that she would think that initially and then actually find a body,” said Young.
Abrahams has been missing since July 31. Investigators continue to find her. The mother said she tucked the girl in bed the night before but was surprised to discover that she was gone the next morning.
