Fortune telling seems to be a lucrative job for many. And though there are many who claim to have the gift to tell in advance what may happen to people, there are also those who just make false predictions for the sake of money or fame. However, they ought to be extra careful now as false predictions may already land fortune tellers in jail.
In particular, witches in Romania may be brought to prison or be fined when found out to have made incorrect fortune telling predictions. This is a fact as Romania, also the home of Dracula, is a place popular for its witches.
Currently, there is a draft bill that politicians are debating on that will require witches to have permits and be judged according to their accuracy. Additionally, the said bill, when approved and passed to law, will require fortune tellers to issue their customers receipts and not to make transactions and predictions near schools and churches.
Early this year, Romania had changed its labor laws in order to recognize and include witchcraft as one of its professions.
And instead of this change making fortune tellers and psychics happy, they are feeling said because including witchcraft as a profession would mean them having to submit their income tax.
As a response to this move, they have casted a spell on the president and the government.
It is interesting to note that witchcraft has already been a big part in the culture of Romania. Since time immemorial, it has already influenced the way Romanians live. And up to today, witchcraft remains to play a huge role in modern society.
