The Psychic Academy will follow the same format as the BBC hit The Apprentice. Six mediums will be competing to be psychic Tony Stockwell’s apprentice. The 40-year-old Stockwell has been a medium for 20 years. In the new show, he will teach the candidates to talk to the dead, read people’s minds and learn the psychic art of detection.
“We started off with basic stuff like reading tea leaves and looking into crystal balls before taking them out on to the High Street in Peckham to confront strangers and see if they could give them an accurate reading.”
Stockwell, who hails from Wickford, runs a psychic school in High Street. He has appread in TV shows like Street Psychic, Psychic School, Psychic Private Eyes. He also has three books on the art published.
Stockwell says of the show: “I don’t think I was as harsh as Alan Sugar (host of BBC’s The Apprentice), but I don’t know how I’ll come across. You will definitely see me getting frustrated with the apprentices at times.”
The series starts on the Biography Channel this week. It will showcase the whole process of selecting the possible apprentices from thousands of hopefuls.
