The word “psychic” has become very vague to most of us today. And the most common visions we have when we hear the word are children gathering around a crystal ball, wearing some cloth on their heads, or them talking to imaginary friends, monsters, or ghosts. However, this is not what actually happens in this psychic class with kids.
According to Stacia Synnestvedt, every third Friday of the month, she teaches 5-10-year-old kids at Boulder’s Psychic Horizons Center for children.
In this class, children are made to sing songs, play their games, and even practice being quiet. Children are being helped to stay connected to their inner knowing or intuition. Moreover, they are also being taught how to respect and keep personal space as well as keep relational boundaries. They are even taught how to prevent from being wrapped up in other people’s emotions.
“You learn tools like grounding to the earth, letting go of energy that isn’t yours and then refilling, calling your energy back. It’s way to sit in the observer place, without getting sucked into the drama of it. That’s when you become intuitive. You tap into a neutral place, because intuition is basically observing,” says Synnestvedt.
When kids are ready and have mastered the basic steps and things to do, they can move forward and learn to read auras, set boundaries and intentions, as well as meet spirit guides.
The teacher says she does not expect a 5-year-old to accept and understand all of these immediately. But for her, it is like planting a seed which will eventually grow and become useful to these children in time. She likens life to be about having many layers. Such early psychic classes are a way to peel off some layers to make only a few layers more to peel as one grows older.
