Gahl Sasson, a professor of astrology, Kabbalah, mythology and comparative religion, and author of the book Cosmic Navigator – Design Your Destiny with Astrology and Kabbalah (Weiser, 2008), notices a significant increase in client ever since the recession.
“More people are coming in; my Web site is getting more traffic, more people contacting me from all over the country actually,” Sasson said.
“With companies downsizing and employees living in fear of pink slips, they are looking for some indicator as to what is going to happen to them,” said Sasson. “If they are already laid off, they are asking ‘what next?
More Americans are seeking astrological help as bad news about the economy and thousands of jobs are lost. They like to read more about their future than to read headlines and watch news about layoffs. Astrology? Why not? Since what they call as economic experts has not been really that reliable for the past few months, turning to a new science of survival is not that bad.
“Spiritual teaching and readings help us see, or at least know what to do with situations that lie beneath the surface,” said Sasson. “They can be our guide when the rest of the world doesn’t seem all that predictable.”
