Pearl City, Honolulu – Police, firemen, the SWAT team, canine dogs and search volunteers are all gathered early Wednesday at the Pearl City High School to help look for Gail Yoshida.
Yoshida disappeared three days ago. Police say she left home Sunday afternoon to walk her dog, Maile, but didn’t return.
Police say the search party has grown bigger since their first attempt to find Yoshida last Monday. They add that there was a lack of available resources on last Monday, but are now in full force.
“I’m a little disappointed, but everyone is trying their best to find her,” said Sharon Tamaru, Yoshida’s sister. “So, we’re gonna keep on trying.”
Family members are taking the advice of a psychic to look below Pearl City High School. Over a hundred volunteers are combing through trails and bushes under the schools. The search area includes steep terrain and thick, deep brush, making the operation challenging.
“The psychic said she feels the dog is not with her and our gut feeling is they are together so you don’t know what to go on,” says Lisa Kimura, Yoshida’s niece.
According to family members, the 63-year-old Yoshida has no history of dementia. “She had no history of dementia or getting lost but then couple weeks ago they did say she went up in this trail and she got a little disoriented but she found her way back,” said her neice Lisa Kimura. She was last seen wearing a green sweatshirt and blue shorts.
