Carlsbad, CA – Playwright Steven Oberman’s “Claire Voyant” is staging in Vista next month. The play marks the debut of Oberman’s full-length play about a clairvoyant as she struggles with her abilities.
The play is a comic-book spoof about psychic superheroes. Set in 1975 San Francisco, it follows the adventures of Claire. Not knowing what to do with her abilities, she finds work at a San Francisco police station where she is caught between identical psychic twins – one evil and the other good.
Oberman has written several short plays for the Theatre Arts for Fun Education (TAFFE), a non-profit organization he founded in 2006. Oberman is also the Marketing Coordinator for Moonlight Stage Productions.
“Clair Voyant” is directed by Jim Straits. It stars Jacob Caltrider, Julie Clemmons, Grace Delaney, Paul Rossi and Cuz Todd. N. Dixon Fish is in charge of scenic design, Roslyn Lehman for costumes, Ashley Jenks for lighting, Jeff Polunas for sounds and Sue Givens will be the show’s stage manager.
It runs from May 7 to the 17th at the Avo Playhouse on 303 Main Street, Vista. It runs Thursdays through Saturday, starting at 8pm and 2pm on Sundays. Tickets are priced at $15 to $20. There will be a preview performance on May 6, with tickets priced at $12.
