When the parents of Jeffrey Howard consulted a psychic to find their missing son, he lead them to Escondido. The Thousand Oaks resident disappeared in December 2006. He left behind a wife and a newborn baby.
According to Howard’s wife, Thuc, he went missing on December 21, 2006. After attending to their 8-week old baby, he went into another bedroom to sleep. He was believed to have left their home at around 4am. He was complaining of a headache and disorientation earlier that day.
According to the psychic consulted said 40-year-old Howard was living and working in Escondido, suffering from a profound form of amnesia. The theory bought his parents to Escondido to search for their son.
Last week, hikers found skeletal remains in Malibu Canyon in a brush-covered car about 800 feet below the Kanan-Dume Road in Zuma Canyon between Malibu and Agoura Hills. Authorities have confirmed his identity through dental x-rays at the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
According to homicide Detective Gary Sica of the Los Angeles County Sherrif’s Department, hikers discovered the skeletal remains which was almost completely hidden from view. A piece of glass that glinted in the sun prompted the hikers to climb up to investigate. An intense search, focused on winding canyon roads, failed to turn up any trace of Howard in the weeks following his disappearance.
