Del Mar, California- Introducing the use of psychics in investigations has become very popular in recent years. Psychic detectives, or those who are engaged in such activity, have involved themselves in the investigation of homicide cases. However, there have only been a few serious investigations on the validity and accuracy of their results.
Among these few investigations in the past months, there is one that is worth noting. This was done by a believer of psychic detectives who is also the host of Skeptiko, Alex Tsakiris, along with skeptic and editor of the Skeptical Inquirer Magazine, Ben Radford.
And for the first time, the results of their investigation are being presented. In the program of host, Alex Tsakiris, he interviewed Ben Radford of the Skeptical Inquirer, Nancy Orlen Weber, a psychic detective, and Captain Jim Moore and Lt. Bill Hughes, New Jersey homicide detectives.
Radford summarized his findings from his three-month investigation as “How do you explain the fact that in at least that on several occasions, at least four instances, the two police detectives remember Nancy Weber saying something different than what she says?” Tsakiris also replied in his 70-minute interview saying “I do not have to explain that because Lt. Bill Hughes and Captain Jim Moore did a great job of explaining it.”
The investigation was done on the murder of Amie Hoffman in New Jersey in 1982. Skeptiko’s investigation showcased how the skeptics evaluate evidence of psychic phenomena.
