June Field, 52, is a Scottish psychic who joined the eastern European International Psychic’s Challenge in 2012, hoping that she would win the £19,000 grand prize. However, she says that STB, the TV company responsible for the show, is withholding her prize for no apparent reason.
Field had received the award last December 2012 from a panel of judges that included spoon-bender Uri Geller. The World’s Greatest Psychic had beaten 70,000 other psychics in 38 different challenges that spanned over six months.
To add insult to injury, Field mentioned that she had to spend £57 just to bring home the heavy trophy she received. She added,
“I should have got 250,000 grivna, which is about £19,000. So far I’ve had nothing. Maybe it’s just been delayed because it has been their Christmas.”
Propelled by utter disappointment with the said corruption, the psychic posted the incident on her Facebook account; many of Field’s fans from around the globe expressed their support and sympathy for her.
In retrospect, she said that she had already been warned about not taking part in these kinds of activities in Ukraine. She thought back then about giving the country a chance, which she was regretting today.
Field said that she and the other psychics were kept from their families for six months only to be lied and cheated upon. Field and the others had to stay in Kiev, Ukraine, for the duration of the contest.
Until now, the television network has still not commented on the issue.
