Getting alone with the in’laws:

This is not always an easy quest, but it is not impossible to have either a good or workable relationship, even if relations between you are strained.

It would be great to be best friends with your mother or father in law, but if that isn’t possible, then try for the next best thing and that is a amicable exchange that is workable.

Life really is too short to be at each other’s throats and you may need to overlook some things to be able to just get alone. Of course, set your boundaries, but be prepared to stretch them a little to accommodate if that is what needs to be done to keep the peace.

Work out in your own mind what is really important and what isn’t. Where is there room to move and where isn’t there? You may have to be the bigger person and give in on a few things, but hey, if they don’t rate in your must’have areas that are of your highest importance, don’t go into battle simply to win, sometimes, when you set out to lose you also win!!
