How to get along with your Mother–in–Law.

You may think at times that your mother in law is plotting against you, but in reality, every mother just wants the best for their child, the same as you want to do the best for your partner. If you experience conflict with your mother–in–law or forte partner’s mother, here are a few ways you can work together and even become best friends.

1. She does know your partner better than anyone else, probably even you, so you can make her feel part of your life together by asking her, what his or her favorite things were while growing up.

2. How about recipes, every child has a favorite recipe; this would certainly help to bring you closer.

3. Involve her in family get–togethers, and if she tries to take control and take over, then sort out the areas that are less important to you and ask her to help in those areas.

4. Finally, if you take the time to involve her and ask her opinion, she will not feel so threatened that she is no longer needed in her child’s life.

5. With a little effort and compassion you can turn a negative situation around so it is positive for you, your mother–in–law and your partner.
