How to Integrate two Families.

With the divorce rate higher than ever, and the need for love and companionship strong, families who have families are joining together, and although this is no easy task to do, it is not impossible for everyone to get along. Here are a few things to consider:

1. Don’t expect too much too soon, people need time to adjust and get used to a new arrangement.

2. Do put in place boundaries that all family members adhere to. This means that the parents, the adults in the situation need to agree on what those boundaries are.

3. Be strict to keep the boundaries in place. Children will push your boundaries to see how far they can stretch the line, it is up to you to let them know when they have gone too far.

4. Love is the best healing ingredient there is. Remember, when someone does something you don’ agree with, put the focus on their ’behavior’ not the person. You can still love the person, and find their behavior inappropriate.
Finally, have fun! Laughter is one of the other most powerful healing ingredients and its totally free – try to inject more into your family unit.
