It's been the first day I've had the house to myself for a while, so I decided to make today a Soul Day.
I decided it was a good day to do this, being the start of the week, should put me in a good state of mind for the rest of the week. Yesterday I got all the important little jobs out of the way so that I wouldnt be distracted by thoughts of what I had to do. I started with a quick look at the new posts on the guild, oh but by accident it told me there were no new posts, so I took that as a sign to switch off. Then I burnt some incense and played a guided chakra clearing meditation as I placed my coloured throws on the sofa and got the place looking and feeling just how I wanted it. Then I lay down with my selenite crystal and did another guided meditation. I find guided meditations work well when I have a problem switching off. I did the Angel Healing one by Doreen Virtue. Afterwards I had a bubble bath, with a handful of dead sea bath salt crystals thrown in. I always think of these as my Angel crystals. Later I noticed it was quite bright outside, so sat outdoors for a while. I have a few spiritual books and health magazines lying around which I may take a look at later. Now I'm posting on the guild. I've had a lovely day and feel ready to face the rest of the week, with a relaxed and calm approach. I always feel that for me healing works best at a spiritual level. What a wonderful day.
I used to spend all day outdoors, taking a walk, connecting with nature. Sometimes I'd even run a bath and set up candles and really soothing music. Now, if I had to spend a Soul Day, I'd also do a type of meditation. I'd probably go outside and cast a circle, thanking the Goddess for everything she's done for me. I'd probably do a couple card readings for friends. Then I'd more than likely spend the rest of the day reading. Thank you for sharing that, Angel. It really makes me want to have my own one of these now. Sounds like a lovely day... ....I kinda want a day where I see nobody all day....I used to have them all the time now I never seem to have them. Yes... I know what you mean. Although Angel C's day sounds wonderful my idea of a soul day is a day totally to myself. Since I usually work seven days a week they are rare. BUT... I had one today. Since it was a public holiday I gave my students the day off and luxuriated in the solitude and the silence. -------------------- "I believe in your reality as much as I believe in my own." Angel C
Slow down! Rushing won't get you there any quicker. I think, therefore... I create my own reality. Blessed are those who look after the animals, for theirs is the kingdom of love... "Not to hurt our humble brethren (the animals) is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission -- to be of service to them whenever they require it. If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men." Well, I'm sure you all will know what I will put down for this. My whole day is cluttered with kids. I don't have room to WALK! I don't really have time for myself, and when I do I just want to sleep while the others take a nap. But, at night after the kids have gone to bed, and I have time to hear myself think I do my art. I get out all of the bad feelings, sadness, happiness and contentment out. Sometimes it's all in one piece, sometimes I do seperate drawings. But, my art cleanses my soul, and makes me feel like a new, more enlightened person each time I do my drawing. My soul feels beautiful after, and I am always proud. So, indeed this is pampering my soul.
