 Story behind the Tarot |

So I remember reading somewhere here that the tarot cards all fit into a story. Does anybody know more about this, and where can I read it?
More importantly, who wrote it? And why? Did the story of the tarot come first, or the cards? (Which came first - the chicken or the egg? XD ) There seems to be a lot of confusion around where and when the tarot cards started... at least there is with me. Anyone know? |

If I remember correctly Tarot cards were originally designed as a game of some sort... can't even remember where I read that, so could be wrong.
Do you mean The Fool's Journey? If so you can google it, (not sure the link is acceptable).

So I read this story about a week ago - was it created to help remember the cards, and how they relate to each other in the game of life. Yes, it's a game.
 I was wondering if there was a story for the minor arcana. I couldn't find one, but do the minor arcana simply relate to characters encountered along the way? Like, in the months there are days sort of thing.
