I usually associated the Moon sign with the first few years of life - the preverbal ones - probably up to about 4 when most people learn to communicate clearly.

The Sun sign represents what we want (who we are at an ego level),
The Moon sign represents our needs (and our emotional nature),
and our Rising Sign/Ascendant represents the mask we wear in order to get these things!

There are many other meanings associated with these parts of a birth chart as well, but these are some core meanings that I use.

Really? Lets see...

Sun in Aries (typical of who I am at an ago level... dynamic and active)
Moon in Capricorn (don't know what emotional nature that represents)
Ascendant Aquarius (mmm tell me about my mask) lol

According to an astrology site after bugging my family for the correct birth time...My moon sign is Libra (sun sign Taurus) Since some others have the same question I do, I cut and pasted what a moon in Libra means:

No, not necessarily. You need to have your chart done to see where all your planets are to be accurate. There are websites where you put in your date of birth, time and place of birth and it does it all for you.

that what the calculator said but i just happen to put libra in the polls sorry i am Aquarius in my Moon sign.
and libra is also in Venus for me so would that mean i am more attracted to Libra or more suited for one?.

I finally looked up my astrology chart after like... a million years and it was interesting, but I really need to talk to my mum to get the super-accurate time... It's pretty interesting, though. How do they determine these traits from the planets? Why are they that way?

Another Pisces here!This time with an Aries Moon and Capricorn rising.I think the Aries Moon is a great one,both me and my dad and my little 5 year old sister have it and though it is a very moody Moon sign we are generous to a fault and always intend well...Of course we are prone to these super weird outbursts of anger,which can be very painful for more delicate,tender Moons(especially for the Cancer Moon),but it goes away very quickly and we just forgive and forget.We do share a certain intensity of feeling with the other Martian Moon(Scorpio)but we are not revengeful as Scorpio Moons are,though we also lack a certain loyalty and stability.Anyway,it is a fun Moon to have!
