Full Version: Pretty Confused

Recently I've been doing some research into astrology(some of you may be familiar with the nature of my interest due to my previous post)and I've come across some very confusing information.

It seems as though the concept of Zodiac signs and interpretations may vary depending on the system used. What I've found as of today, is that I am apparantly a Capricorn, according to the idea that there are 13 or 14 different signs instead of 12. I can't seem to find much on the internet as most of my search results simply guide me to bogus offers. In the past I've read about what I thought was my sign, I was under the impression I was an Aquarian. When I was younger I didn't pay it much attention, but through the years I found some pretty informative resources that gave intense description of being an Aquarian, and its very much similar to my personality.

My problem, is that when i read the description of a Capricorn, its really nothing like me, yet its allegedly the "true" Zodiac Sign for me, according to my birthday. A friend of mine was formerly a Pisces, and as we discovered this, he became an Aquarian according to this new information, however he is no more an Aquarian than I am a Capricorn. I'm left to wonder if others are having this same issue when comparing the dates of birth between systems, and I'm left to assume that if many people feel "misdiagnosed" so to speak on the subject of their "real" sign using 13/14 instead of 12, there must be some issue preventing a proper reading of the sign despite that mathematically it seems to prove itself more worthy than the western tropic system.

Needless to say I'm pretty confused by most of this, if anyone can offer some advice, or perhaps more information on the subject as I may have been misinformed by certain resources, I would appreciate it.

If needed, my birthday is January 25th.

Thanks for anything provided,

Hi Flux,

Can you post or PM me your birthplace and time of birth? I'm not an astrologer but I know a little. Maybe I can help.

Thanks,

Hi Flux,

Hope you are well.

Honestly, I would stick with the Tropical. This is the method most widely used. There are so many "takes" on astrology. In some cases I've seen people use there chart information and then add a bunch of asteroids or other mathematical degree points to get the end results that they want. I'm certainly not saying you are doing this! But given that, I'd stick to the traditional methods that work for the masses: Tropical and concentrate on the major planets. You can throw Chiron in there if you want.

I just like keeping it simple.

I did a chart for you and I would go with Aquarius. You're not on the cusp so it's not questionable. Your asendant is Cap. and it's position is not altered by using a birth time of 6:07 or 6:14.

Now, If you are not at all like a Cap then you will have to try and find out for sure if your birth time is accurate. Every 2 hours the ascendant changes.

My mother always told me I was born at 7:20 pm but that would have made my asendant Taurus which is not me at all. I ended up figuring out that my birthtime HAD to be off by atleast 8 minutes because then my Asendant would be Gemini which fits me to a "T." So I go by a birthtime of 7:28.

In your case 7:07 or 7:14 would make your ascendant Aquarius. Could it be possible that the time is off by a perfect hour?

If your birthtime is indeed 7:07-14 it does not effect the rest of your planets. They are still in the same houses. This might be the case.

How accurate do you think your birthtime is? Are you taking the info from your birth certificate?

This is an excerpt from an article on Aquarius rising. Does it sound like you?

How unique and original Aquarius rising natives come across! These individuals are just that -- individuals, and they won't let you forget that fact. Often turned to for advice, these natives possess intellectual poise and savvy. They often are curious, and quite learned, in both science and metaphysics--anything that involves advancement of the human race holds much appeal.

It's hard to shock an Aquarius rising. They've seen it all, or at least want you to think they have. In fact, they often enjoy shocking others. Not that they are flamboyant by nature, but they do like to, albeit quietly, get a rise out of others. Some natives born with Aquarius on their Ascendant can be quietly provocative and irreverent.

Most people with this Ascendant are quite friendly and likable. Their personality quirks generally go over quite well with others. They generally give others quite a bit of freedom--accepting, as a rule, people from all walks of life as equals. And, their somewhat cool and detached curiosity about all that goes on around them appeals to most.

Hope this helps!
