Full Version: House Cusps
Hi can anyone answer this question for me please? My ascendant is 20 24 in Cancer and my Sun and Venus are both in the 12th house. Venus is 19 4 in Cancer so is very close to my ascendant. As I understand it Venus' influence will be in the 12th house because that is where it is placed but will it also have an influence on my 1st house as it is so close to my ascendant? Thank you for any replies.
Hi Silver. I know you asked me this question already but i haven't gotten back to you... i'll try to explain this to you.
There are different people who have different beliefs on this. Some say that any planet within the last 2 degress of a house takes on the next house's interpretation. Some people say it doesn't. Yours is about a 1 degree difference so its pretty close. The thing about it is its not just a house cusp, the ascendant is almost like a planet on its own; its its own point with its on meaning in your chart. So, if this makes sense, Venus affects your ascendant from the 12th house perspective. So it doesn't affect your 1st house as much as it does your ascendant; but those are so close that they are almost the same. But your sun is conjunct your venus too and this is why you might be asking these questions, because the influence is stronger on you.
Venus on the asendant from the first house would mean someone who is openly sensual, very flirtacious and who people of the opposie sex flock to. They see the good things in life and have a sweet, almost naive nature. They want everyone to be happy and will do anything for someone; they usually avoid conflict and have the tendency to be a pushover. From the 12th house your venus will take the shape of some more hidden negative qualities. 12th house is about karmic imbalance and the loss of oneself ehh i think i've talked about 12th house quite a bit with you so take all the stuff i've told you and about it and add it here (love and close environment which is venus) You might keep a lot of your sexual feelings hidden; you might have a lot of hidden romances. You might find it important to be comfortable and have trouble finding comfort outside the confines of your home; by yourself. On the other hand you might have the ability to use your environment to turn into something spiritual; you might use your sweet nature to draw things out of other people and teach them seomething about themselves. These would all be iterpretations of Venus in 12th but since it is along your asecndant and along your sun, this will be exaggarated in your life. you might want to take a good look at your love life and sensuality/comfort, how you express your love and comfort; and if you are openly expressing it in a balanced way or are you sticking to comfort through inner stress/ hideen situations and power imbalances.
And then you have to take all that information and add it to the aspects its making (opposing saturn retro, quiconx moon, are the 2 main ones) because those will have more affects on it.
