I love music! I'm conducting a little expirement. Heres what I'd like to know:

1. Your Sun Sun (and moon sign!! this ones veyr important if you know it)
2. What is your favorite type of music? maybe fav band/ artist if you'd like to add that as well.
3. What is your listening style- do you listen to music a lot? when? sing a lot? do you have tons of dif. music tastes or stick to one or two styles?
4. What do you listen to in a song to qualifiy it as good? ie. good beat, intricate instrument playing, emotional lyrics, technicality, smooth flowing, etc...

HAHAHA I've thought about this for myself and found that my Sun and Moon fit my music tastes like just about perfect LOL

Sun - 13 degrees Sag
Moon - 19 degrees Aries
Asc - 17 degrees Libra

From my Saggi Sun comes my appeal to world music and classical! The world music from Sag's foreign influence, the classical music from the philosophical side of Sagittarius I would say. the I like Canadian music, Irish music, Reggae, German music, MANY other world music styles!!

Due to my Aries Moon, I also like thrash metal!! hahaha

My 6th house is ruled by Pisces (music) and that is where my Aries Moon resides, and I have Neptune (ruled by Pisces...again, to look at for music) in Sagittarius.

Hi Steve, I just read in another post that you have Venus in Cappy. Venus is also linked to music and I've noticed that a lot of people who have Venus in an Earth sign, or other prominent planets in earth signs, love heavy metal! My friend who is such a Taurus explained this to me.. he said he likes things to be technical. He likes to find the connections between things and finding the right, specific answer.. he likes computers and he plays drums, so he realized he liked heavy metal because its fast and very precise and technical! But I can def see how it appeals to an Aries too!

I'm coming to realize we can tell a lot about our personality through the type of music we like =)

I have a question for you if you don't mind =) it doesn't have much to do with music but i'm just curious.. since your moon and ascendant are opposite; which one do you identify with more? I've noticed If someone has planets opposing their ascendant, it is hard to see that in them. But sometimes I'm not sure if they feel this way too.

Oh, I definitely can associate with my Libra rising better than the Aries Moon. I think my rising sign was my blessing to keep me from losing my cool so much....but that side does come out from time to time

I woke up this morning thinking about this post and considering the Venus and Taurus connection with music and sitting here hoping I had not posted something incorrect haha Thought about this and yah Venus would have the better match with music and tastes in music, tho I believe Neptune would be associated with the musician or musical ability

Hi Steve, yes I agree both Venus and Neptune have a big influence on our musical interest... Venus is more about appreciation of an art, or a keen eye for art.. while Neptune has more to do with the creation. great insight you just gave me! makes perfect sense!! Hey maybe you have the ability to create some fiery, worldly music.. or other kinds of art for that matter =P

i find i like 70s,80s music and love songs but i am not sure if thats anything to do with my astrological signs or not

Hey Lickdafoot, great name I do have an excellent ear for music and used to play many different musical instruments, bass guitar being my "specialty." I lost my ability to play when I lost the use of my left arm in 1991. I have since had some success playing harmonica but I lost interest in it, it was only enjoyable at certain times. Nice idea tho

my sun sign is taurus, my rising sign(not sure if thats to do with the moon) is capricorn

Hi Nigel. I know from doing your chart that both your moon and rising sign are in Capricorn. But yeah Taurus is ruled by Venus (the planet of romance) so yes that is def. related to love songs =)

My favourite now is strings. When I was younger and did listen to music my taste was eclectic, ranging from the Beatles through Bob Marley to 30s Big Band.

I prefer silence so I hardly ever listen to music.

I don't think of it as 'good' or 'bad', more as what moves me.

ohh Bob Marley... One of my dogs is named after him.. love reggae!

Hello! Well first I have to say, great post! I LOVE music and find it soothes me very much.
My sun sign is Sagittarius, moon sign Aquarius, ascendant Taurus, venus in capricorn, neptune in sagittarius.
My sun conjuncts neptune. My moon conjuncts venus and my midheaven. mercury conjuncts neptune. venus conjuncts midheaven.
I really go through phases but have a very wide range in musical tastes. Currently i love rap and r&b but i love all types of music, except country! I listen to music everyday!

I am Virgo with Libra moon, and I like just about everything except hip hop and rap, and I am not a big country fan either, although I will listen to it here and there. My favorites are rock (mostly 70s and 80s) and pop songs from the same decades, but I also listen to 50s and 60s sometimes, I like classical, and I like a lot of the songs from the 40s too, especially old blues songs.

I love music (never exercise without it), but when I am driving to/from work, I go through cycles, there are times I listen to tons of music (I have a 5 CD player and satellite radio so lots to listen to), there are times I just turn everything off and prefer silence, and there are times I listen to the news, especially for traffic or if I am following a story I might listen to CNN or something like that.
