I am curious as to what everyone's opinion is on a question I have.

Do, can the chart of the parents, reflected those of the children/s?

I ask, cause I see a lot of simularities in my, my husband and our childrens chart. He is also very compatible with his step-daughter. I have asked this before in another place, (don't remember) and never got an actual opinion or answer.

So thought I would ask here tongue.gif

So what do you all think?
The parents charts and the children/s chart/s can or really can't be, cause of so much change due to the slightest degree?

Hi Boty, there has been some research done on how family lines have similarities in their charts. (I know there are articles on it out there.. if only i could find them hehe.) Some families have planets falling on the same degrees, some families have a strong particular planet, or similar aspects. This is not very straightforward though which makes it hard to pinpoint. Looking at the similarities can give a lot of insight into the families dynamic and how they relate to each other... which traits get passeed on to which children, etc.. i'd exhaust you with some examples but i'm sure you can find examples within your family. (unless you want me to exhaust you cause i can talk about astro forever wink.gif)

Another thing to remember is that in the chart, The sun represents father and the moon mother. Many people say that the sun and moon's position in ones chart actually do describe their mothers/ fathers relationship to them pretty accurately.

If you are interested in how the chart relates to the family dynamic, read the book "The Development of Personality" by Liz Greene. It has a ton of very unique insights about our charts and our family development.

Okay, lets say you have a family- mother, father, 3 children. This is a hypothetical example but I'm taking some elements/ things that I actually have seen within families charts...so its not too farfetched lol.

The mother has her Sun square moon and Saturn opposite moon. This means she might neglect her emotional side and is a bit rigid with her nuturing. Her Sun is in 8th house Capricorn, squaring moon in 11th house of Aries, and Saturn opposes the moon from 4h house of Virgo. It's possible that she struggles to balance friends (11th house) and her work (virgo in 4th). She also has Mercury in Aqua in the 9th house (of philosophy) trining Venus in Gemini in the 1st house (self) trining Neptune in Libra in the 5th house (creativity, kids) This makes her very intellectually creative. Shes a writer and professor, teaching cultural studies and writing books on various subjects. I would also like to note that she has A singleton of Pluto in scorpio, giving a theme of transformation/extremity in her chart. Actually both of the parents have this placement because Pluto is a generational planet and they were born just a few years apart. Lastly I'm going to mention that she has Juno (the asteriod of love/attraction) in her 7th house of Sagittarius.

The father Has his sun in Sagittarius (conjunct the mothers juno) trining his moon in Leo. (mothers moon makes a grand trine with fathers sun and moon- hence their "easy flowing" connection.) His sun is in the 10th house and moon in the 6th house. This shows that his career/ work is very important to him. He's very loving and extremely outgoing, def head of the household. He also has Mars and Mercury conjunct in his first house of pisces. However, both of these square his Jupiter in Gemini 4th house. He's a military man, driven by unity and teamwork; but his hopes of owning a big home are cut short for many years because of this. He had to move the family around a lot in the early years of the children's lives.

The first child has Scorpio ascendant, interestingly enough his ascendant falls right on the degree that his mother's Pluto is on. So we see that the intensity of life is being carried down to this child. His sun is also in the 8th house (Gemini) the 8th house is the house ruled by Pluto and Scorpio so again we see this theme. He has Mercury in pisces 5th house. We're starting to see that this child is very much run by his emotions. His moon falls in Aquarius in the fourth house, opposing his Pluto in Leo along the midheaven. This placement shows a lot of things. First of all, Aquarius along the IC means unusual upbringing, or a lot of random changes.. it also clues to an intellectually based household. We can see, with the parents this child has, that both of these are true. He moved around a lot and this will reflect his nature as he grows old. With moon in the 4th house, makes home environment very important to him and Pluto opposing this can mean drastic changes that can be unsettling to the child. Moon also represents mother which, of course she was an Aquarius and very "airy". Also his mother was not very emotionally supportive and having Pluto opposing his moon can mean that his intense emotions caused him to lash out at his parents occasionally as a result of feeling vulnerable/unsupported emotionally. It also leads to transformation/ viewing the world in unique manners. But he did have his sun and moon trining which shows he saw his parents as having a harmonious relationship and disciplining him equally. The last thing I will say is that he has Jupiter in his third house of Capricorn. (third house usually means communication but it shows siblings too)

The second child has his sun in Capricorn in the 5th house. He and his older brother have a very close relationship (shown by his brothers cappy 3rd house.) This child also has his moon in virgo in the 12th house. The 12th house is about karmic unbalance, and self-undoing. We can see that he felt emotionally neglected by his mother. The 12th house also deals with spirituality and for the greater of a team. So this is something that is very important to him. Because of this and some other things, he adopted a love for his father's military style of life. He has mars in pisces in the 6th house trining scorpio in venus in the 2nd house. 6th house is about work, and 2nd house is about material staus/ value. This child went on to be in the military to support himself. The venus in scorpio also shows the intensity of this family and he specifically finds power through love/romance. We can see that he identifies more with his dad and might neglect his soft emotional side. Remeber that the mother has Neptune in Libra in the 5th house of kids, and this child's ascendant is libra. Neptune rules the 12th house so we can see through the mothers chart that Neptune in Libra in 5th house shows a kid who has libra traits that might seem "neptunian" - evasive or withdrawn to her. Do you see how his 12th house moon relates to her chart?

The third child is the daughter. Her sun is in cancer in the third house(house of siblings). This shows that she probably identifies with her oldest brother morseo than the middle one. Because cancer is emotionally invested, she gets her comfort through her brother and fathers (sun=father) support. She also has an Aquarius Midheaven which shows that her mother helped her with her sense of social status and career. She has both Pluto and Moon conjunct in Capricorn 9th house. This shows an intense love for spirituality/higher education. Because Pluto strengthens the moon we can see how her mother helped transform her. She might have gone on to be a motivational speaker in which her mother prepared her (which is why her mothers sign of Aqua is on the cusp of the 10th house.) She also has mutually receptive Mercury in Libra and Venus in Gemini. This again shows the intellectual airy side that has passed on from mother to daughter. She also has URanus in the fourth house, showing sudden changes in family in the early childhood.

So in general this family focuses on work, higher thinking, and transformation/ intensity.

The clues to find in families don't have to be specific. For example a child with a strong moon would relate more to the mother, and vice versa w/ father, or a child with a conflicted moon would have struggles with the mother. If something is very strong in lets say the fathers chart, it can be carried down to the child in many forms. He might have the same planet in a sign, or the ruling planet of that sign conjuncting the other planet, or the planet in the same element, or same house, etc.. Also sometimes there are links in the planets involved but by different aspects. hope this helps and didn't just confuse you even more! i know there's a lot of astro jargon..
