Hey!

I was just wondering if anyone can explain how astrology works. I mean, how people came up with the idea in the first place and all of that. eeeh....I'm not explaining this too well...

Just I've always found my 'astrology chart' thing never work. Like horoscope and things. I'm Virgo and the description of a Virgo doesn't seem to fit me at all!

I think Botyfltiger new a lot about the history of astrology...I might be thinking of someone else though. Sorry if I am.

Anyway I think most astrology people would say that if your sun sign doesn't fit you, the rest of your chart might make sense if you got a full chart reading or something more in depth. I'm a cancer but I usually read gemini horoscopes when I do because they seem to fit me better.

My personal belief is the soul before entering the body makes an intention for the life she (and/or) he is about to embark on, and the life intention is represented in the planets, and astrologers interpret that.
But I think that astrology, just like all other things (tarot, angels, psychic readings) work best when you subscribe to that belief. Some people who are very turned off by astrology make sure it doesn't work for them, and others accept it and allow the planets to "say" what will happen to them.

Go to Amazon.com and buy The Book of Enoch. It's supposed to be an account of Enoch from the Old Testament. While most scholars claim it's a fraud, it does offer a lot of insight into the birth of astrology for mankind. Also included is war, purgatory, etc. It's a good read. You don't have to take it as truth (I sure don't) but it's got a way of getting you to look at things from other angles.

No-one ever fits into one of the twelve catergories of Astrology - it's impossible, almost!! For example, no-one is 100% Virgo, or Pisces for instance. That is because we have signs in other planets... Have you ever had your chart done?

I have. I am pisces with lots of Aries planets, and more. That explains the conflict I sometimes feel... It's very indepth and takes some self-analysis and understanding to fully comprehend it...
