Does anyone have much knowledge on Chinese Astrology??

i found it very confusing, years ago i was trying to find the best match for a water dog(my sign in chinese astrology) i still havent been able to work it out

I think Chinese astrology is totally inaccurate because it doesn't limit it down to anything. Basically everyone born in a group of years is the same sign, and it doesn't distinguish personality difference or apply to it at all.

Though I wouldn't rely on astrological signs to determine any compatibility between two people. You need more than a single sign to determine a person's personality and whether it would clash with yours. So personally I wouldn't pay attention to it biggrin.gif Especially since Chinese astrology is so broad and confusing! It doesn't fully apply to a single person.

Hmmm... Thanks nigel and MooPurple smile.gif

I've met men in the sign of the Rabbit which I have liked in the past and even got along with .. however, Chinese Astrology tells The Rat (Me!) to stay away from Rabbits ... they don't get along ... well, mostly because in ancient Chinese times Buddha awarded the Rat first place in the pecking order ... and this was mainly because the Rat got there first - which happened by the way, as a consequence of deceiving the Rabbit (or Cat) ... so therefore, the Rabbit doesn't trust the Rat!!!

But if I believe in such things ... it narrows down the people I happen to like and would maybe want to get to know more .. sad.gif

I don't think it makes much sense in Chinese astrology to label everyone born in a year as a symbol. Obviously although everyone my age is a fire tiger, we are all different people. There must be more to the astrology then just that.

I've tried finding if there are more specific groups in chinese astrology, but haven't found anything. Basically everywhere I've looked, you're grouped with the year you were born and thats it.

GP, it seems like a lot of the guys I am interested in fall into the wrong astrology sign no matter what i'm using! But I've disregarded it totally.
I have a good example in that my mom is Aries and my dad is Libra (not supposed to be compatible) and though their personalities can clash sometimes, they've been pretty happily married for 25 years! And i have no clue about chinese astrology compatibility.

I'm starting to think that astrology should only be used as a basis, no matter what. For example, the possible strengths and weakness of each sign ...

For example, I started seeing a guy who I thought was a Dragon ... I didn't find out until a few weeks later that he was actually a Rabbit!! Now Dragon's and Rat's (ME) are supposed to be 100% compatible, so I was so excited... and unfortunately, Rabbit's are a no go sad.gif

When I think about it though, the thought of him being a Dragon made me look at the positives, and the thought of him being a Rabbit made me look at the negatives... Could be something in that!!

Great story about your Mom and Dad biggrin.gif
