I am a Taurus and that is said to be ruled by Venus.

When in Barnes & Noble, I quickly looked at a book about 2012 and saw it talking about Venus. How the planet's weird orbit.

I think it said that it's orbit was going to reverse (and ONLY Venus) or maybe it was saying Venus goes in a different direction than all other planets already? Does it? If not, then I guess it will in 2012 according to this book.

Would that make any difference to Tauruses?

All planets move in the same direction, only extrasolar bodies (or objects not from our solar system) can move in a different direction. The book may have been referring to our view of Venus from the sky may reverse, I have heard of things like that before.

Maybe this is something you can look into and explain to us!!??!! I'm not sure if there's any astrology buffs posting at the moment.

All the planets retrograde at different times. Retrograde is when the planet appears to be going backwards. It has to do with our earths rotation and at certain times it makes other planets look like they are going backwards because all planets move at different speeds.

Because each planet governs certain things, during a retrograde it usually means that the planets characteristics are in the negative. For example, Saturn governs our psychological and physical supports. It governs our boundaries and enables us to be able to say no. When Saturn goes retrograde we can end up agreeing to things we normally wouldn't as we find it hard to say no.

Oooo sounds wild.

What about Venus?

Venus retrogrades every 18 months.

In general, Venus, the goddess of love, rules feelings and emotion, aesthetics and tastes, fashions and all forms of desire, money and wealth. Venus rules social attitudes and behaviour, along with aesthetic tastes and inclinations. Venus symbolises female relationships and social interactions at every level. Venus indicates our values. She governs romance, marriage and other partnerships, capacity for humour, and the pursuit of pleasure.

During a retrograde period the things Venus influences will be less apparent, or be of less concern to the world. Visual sensibilities are reduced. People dress with less flair and our colour sense tends to be muted. This is not the time to purchase clothes or jewellery, change one's make-up or hairstyle. Redecorating or refurbishing homes or business should also be avoided, though there is no reason why decisions that have been made earlier should not be allowed to come to fruition during this period.

With Venus retrograde, the pace of relationships slows down and this is not the best time to get married or give big parties. Since Venus rules diplomacy, slowdowns in all sorts of negotiations can be expected, including industrial disputes, legal issues and diplomatic endeavours.

It is a time when we are called upon to go back and take care of unfinished business. Often we are forced to deal with deep feelings that have their origins in past events. They are activated on an inner level but are often difficult to express to ourselves or others while Venus is retrograde.

Seems that there is!

I have a good friend that is an astrologer, numerologist and clairvoyant so we have big conversations about astrology. He's been slowly teaching me bits and pieces but what I know barely scratches the surface.

Well you hit the head with the posts above. I only opened this thread to see if he was given an answer. And every response I had, lol you gave, so I hope that Dorky got his answer.?

Here is a break down of where Venus will be in each Sun sign during 2012.

Jan. 14, in Pisces

October 3 till 22, Virgo

December 12, Sagittarius

You said you are a Taurus, so the month of March may have the most influence for you and your Sun sign.

Venus is in transit or goes retro in 2012 on June 6th with in Gemini. so many decisions will have to be made, but will not be easy because of many conflictions.

All I can say to this is: 2012 for the win. It certainly will make for an interesting year in every sense.
