Less than 24 hours after he was born, he was looking me right in the eye. When I got frustrated trying to breastfeed him and was venting to my husband about how bad I felt, my son stopped crying and gave me a look like, "You're going to be ok, Mommy." At 4 days old!!
Ever since he learned the word "Moon," he is obsessed with it. As soon as it gets dark, he looks for it, and he is able to spot it in places that even I don't notice it, such as when we're walking in the park before dusk and it's coming up behind a tree or something. He also fixates on the stars a lot and that's a word he loves to repeat.
Does this have any meaning? He is a very curious kid overall so it may have no significance, but his perception is just so sharp. When he was a tiny baby suffering from reflux, he used to fixate on something on the ceiling and just freeze and shriek--it could have been the acid but it looked like he was really seeing something up there (a demon or something)? He hasn't done that in awhile but he has a great sense of emotions--pats me or kisses me when I'm anxious or sad, even if I'm not showing it, etc.
What do you all think about him?
His heritage is half Indian and from before birth my brother-in-law called him Shah Jahan (the king who built the Taj Mahal tomb) because we all had a sense that he would be a special child.
