Full Version: Who reads their horoscope?

Does anyone out there read their daily horoscope in the newspaper, on the net or even on a site like the Guild?
Sometimes I find it is startlingly appropriate even though there's millions of people with the same sun sign as me! smile.gif
Other times I read the first one that I notice regardless of the sign and I can relate to it too... huh.gif
What's your experience?

I find that impersonal fortunes like whats written in a newspaper or even a fortune cookie has never even once applied to me, but it's all about perspective. You can make anything apply to you if you want it to.

I read my horoscope most every day, I know i'ts just the generalities of the sign but theres' soemthing to it most of hte itme. I wouldn't stake my life on it and know real reading of curse based on exact time and place really says it. Even then there is free will. But yeas I do!!!!!!!!!!

astrology is known to be studied by ancient egyptians and sumerians. how can you disagree with them!. if you find your horoscope irrevelant, this means that the astrologers are wrong not the astrology.
AngelicPsychic
In my professional opinion as a psychic, I feel that getting an Astrology isn't as beneficial to people as getting a proper clairvoyant reading. Horoscopes in the newspaper are just a general over view of your birth chart, and gives a general explanation of what 'could' be going on, with the sort of information that could actually appeal to almost anyone reading. The info is far too basic and general to determine whats going on in someones life, how can the same situation be going on for every 'Scorpio' for example? Easy.. it can't. Sometimes you may feel "oh, that sounds like me at the moment!", but thinking about it, that's most probably just a coincidence.

Always remember, when you want something, focus it coming true and with the positive attitude, you are most likely to succeed.

I have to say I can't disagree with this statment!
I read the paper ones only for fun. There are many great FREEEEEEEE Transit programs out there on the net that allow you to put in your own info and get very accurit readings with.
I would start to try them insted of the ones in the papers. Cause the ones in the papers like everyone else mentioned they are generalised for the Sun sign it self. There is way more to it then just your Sun/Star sign.

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd add my thoughts to this thread. I write columns myself and would like to explain some of the logic behind them.

When I write them I am intpreting the planets in a way to suit the wide variety of readers... ie male/female, single/attached, children/no children, younger/older.... etc. Obviously it is difficult to do this in a limited space AND explain the symbolic meaning behind the planets in a detailed way, so that's why sometimes the columns can get a bit vague.

Sometimes you'll be lucky and read a column that is totally in syn with your situation, other times you may need to be flexible in the interpreting the forecast.

Another thing that you may be interested in knowing is that you can read the forecast for your Rising Sign as well as your Sun Sign.

I hope this helps!

well im dissapointed had a good horpscope today and didnt coem at all true
You are going to get some great news; something you've been hoping to hear or have been waiting for… this could be concerning a sale, book, or literary endeavor. Someone is going to tell you he/she loves you, or someone very taken with you will call or propose a union.

dry.gif Yeah, that's why I don't read a daily horoscope, and besides, if you were gonna have great news it would have happened regardless of whether you read the horoscope or not, right? wink.gif

Hi ,I'm new here and this is my first post! biggrin.gif

I read my horoscope in weekly magazines and daily, sometimes it can be quite accurate, but I would say mostly it isn't.

I read my horoscope when I have time for it, but I rather like reading the monthly ones.
Desert Moon
Hi,

I enjoy reading the monthly ones but recently as I am trying to understand transits, I think I'll take a try at figuring them out on my own. If anyone cares to learn with me, we can start a new thread?????

Hi I get daily automated ones from the internet. Sometimes they are actually quite accurate, and make me think twice about how I may be planning on approaching something. Maybe its just coincidence, but then again coincidences always make me think twice.

Desert Moon,

I have to say that this passed 2 months I have been trying hard to understand astrology. I went to Astroident (SP?) and read some, but get confuse yet interested to learn.

I am not sure where to start, as the planets and houses do confuse me. Not that I have plenty of spare time with 2 young ones, but everytime I have spare time, I google those astrology sites that offer beginner lessons.

Do include me if you are thinking of start something on astrology please?

TIA
Desert Moon
Hi Abigail,

When you went to that site did you get your chart done?

When I went there I started looking at the personality descriptions but I didn't pay too much attention to my chart (when I should have). If this is what you did, scroll down to the bottom of the page of your description and it will spell out your aspects: Moon conjunct San in 6th house..etc. Go to each aspect and google it. First start with the planets and how they affect you, then move to the houses and see which planets are in them.

From there, you can google the planets in your houses ie: "Sun in 8th house" and read the description.

It's very interesting and there's a lot to keep you occupied! I'm just starting myself and I really enjoy it.

Please reply and tell me once you see your chart.

Keep me posted.
Abigail
DM,

I did do that, I even joinned their forum, but I feel like "small" because honestly I do not know what they are talking about, that is why I just keep poking and clicking to see what I get.

Although through reading their forum, I get to a site where do teach basic, again I have not had much time to look at them.

It is very interesting to say the least, how could thousand years ago people can see that certain people born in a certain time will have a certain characteristic :? it is really mind boggling!

I am unfortunately in the middle of a big project, which will take at least the good part of 6 months of my time to get settle, after that, I hope I will be free and start from the bottom and see how far I can go. But if you do have advices on where to start, of course I would really greatful if you do share. biggrin.gif I put lots of sites onto my "to be looked at later" folder LOL

Hello :)

I find Karen Moregold's monthly horoscopes really good, for anyone who doesn't know her, she has a section in the Australian New Idea magazine.
nigel
i read the horoscopes in who weekly, new idea and womans day but i cant work out if they are just predictions for women or men or both
Fading-Memories
I read my horroscope every now and then, and it is almost always dead-accuralte. Like word for word. And I read them at night after the day is done, and it still always matches up.

Ive been keeping track of the days that its been freakishly accurate (almost every time i remember to look, usually), and i noticed that about six months after my birthday was the only time my horroscope was ever wrong. And ive noticed now with my birthday arriving, its getting more and more... well, right on target.

I am an Aries, and my birthday is on april 16, its also my golden birthday, oddly enough...

oh, and i reasearched Aries a while back and the description fits me like a glove. the zodiac element for aries is fire, and fire relates to the Manipura chakra located at the navel, i think. that is the chakra i have the hardest time flowing energy through. sometimes i cant even manage it while meditating. it feels like a roadblock or something.

are the stars trying to tell me something? or am i just making ties that dont exist? it just wierd that they all seem to relate...
nigel
i always find them interesting even if nothing happens
windingroad2186
I read mine when I think about it, or when I feel I need guidance..lol, but i don't live by it or anything . They haven't seemed accurate enough for me to do so.

Hello, I don't like reading generic daily horoscopes, I'd prefer my own exact horoscope identifying only me,
with my date/time of birth, with my moon sign, etc.
