What is a Ghost?

Many of us believe that the human body is purely a vehicle which carries our soul or spirit whilst on this earth plane. Our soul departs our body and moves on to the spiritual plane once the person is deceased and carries with it the past memories and experiences that the person has had whilst here on earth.

Due to the various religious teachings people have various beliefs on what occurs after death. For some they believe that the soul departs this earth plane and passes on to heaven or hell. For others they believe that the soul departs this earth plane and goes through various lessons in preparation for another incarnation in another body back on earth.

Through out history we have heard of various lost spirits roaming this earth plane and often unsure of what has occurred to them and why. We all remember hearing and in some cases sharing ghost stories in our youth and recall movies and novels based on ghostly experiences.

Simply a ghost is a spirit which has passed from this earth plane. In some instances where people have died suddenly or tragically and have suicided they are present in the lowest level of the spirit world know as the astral. These spirits are often confused about their surroundings and are earth bound because of their past religious beliefs or the circumstances in which they died.

It has been noted throughout history that many older people who have died are left in the astral plane because of their beliefs. They believe that once they have passed over that either pearly gates will open to greet them into heaven or that God and Jesus themselves would be their to welcome them. When this has not occurred they are left in the astral awaiting for that to occur.

Those who have died tragically or by suicide are also left in the astral and are confused about what has happened to them. In England there are many old mansions where it has been reported that ghosts have been present in some cases for centuries. Many of these ghosts were past residents of the mansions and had died in or around the mansion.

On further investigation, ghosts that had appeared at some of these mansions once identified were traced back through history and it was revealed how they had died. Many of these stories were often tragic and the ghost of the deceased wandered aimlessly around mansion.

People have also reported that they have been visited by their deceseased relatives and have felt that they have visited them to say a final goodbye or have been there to comfort them during their grieving.

Reports of ghosts are occurring on a daily basis throughout the world and in many cases these reports have been traced back to past residents of the homes or workplaces. We have all heard of theatres being haunted by actors that have worked there in the past or a ghost appearing where a worker has been killed at a work site.

Some people have if fact photographed ghosts and ghost have mysteriously appeared in family photographs.

Ghosts are all around us and a part of our daily lives for some of us we will never have the opportunity to see a ghost whilst others have been fortunate to see ghosts on a regular basis. Be careful not to attract unwanted spirits by conducting activities such as seances and playing with widgie boards. For these type of activities tend to attract those lost souls on the earth plane and many can be negative and cause distress to those who have attracted them.
