Healthscopes October/November 2006By Astrogirl
Birthday Librans (September 24 – October 23)
Bold Mars and beautifier Venus spice up your life through October 24. Make
the most of her makeover efforts and his chutzpah and try that new hair style/colour
or fashion style. A Full Moon in your relationship zone October 7 sorts out
a difficult situation with a friend. You’ve had enough of her dramas and
late night phone calls. Time to cut her out of your life once and for all. Your
once a year New Moon October 22nd helps you overcome your fears about a new
exercise class at the gym and you find you actually like the challenge. In November,
Mercury is out of phase in your self-esteem zone and you don’t handle
criticism well at all. Luckily an unexpected flirtation with a total hottie
around the New Moon November 21st makes you realize you’ve still got it
(and then some).
Birthday Scorpios (October 24 – November 22)
Good news first! Energizer bunny Mars and enchantress Venus move into your
sign October 24 and motivate you to do something with your life – whether
it involves your mission to fit into that teeny weeny bikini by the holidays
or finally paint the house. Now for the not so good news. Mercury, the planet
of clear thinking and communication goes out of phase in your sign October 28
– November 18. So you will misplace your belongings, get lost going somewhere
you’ve been a hundred times before and have stupid misunderstandings with
pretty much everyone. Time to retreat and spend quality time with your pets,
your partner and kids and block out the rest of the world until your New Moon
November 21, which makes you realize just how much you’ve got to be grateful
for (even those pesky in-laws!) Plus an unexpected financial windfall late in
November is definitely something to be happy about!
Sagittarius (November 23 – December 21)
Road trip anyone? That’s what you’ll be asking in October, as the
desire to make tracks and go on a retreat increases with the Full Moon October
7 shining in your philosophical zone. Any sort of spiritual retreat or inner
work is advised October 28 – November 18, when Mercury takes a siesta
in your past karma and subconscious zone. If you’ve ever thought doing
a detox program, Mercury’s retrograde journey is the cosmically right
time. Venus, the shop till you drop goddess moves into your sign November 17
through December 11. Leave the plastic at home to avoid temptation! Through
the end of November is the perfect time to focus on you – and what you
realistically feel you can achieve through exercise and diet (not what the glossy
magazines tell you that you can).
Capricorn (December 22 – January 20)
Stick to your health routine in October. While you’ll be tempted to try
something new age or more advanced, you run the risk of falling off the exercise/diet
wagon if you do. Communicator king Mercury goes out of phase in your friendship
zone October 28 – November 18 and you may feel the need to work out on
your own – or just with your personal trainer (unless you have a falling
out with him/her). A family situation could boil over around the Full Moon October
7 and you need to stick to your guns when it comes to your feelings/thoughts.
A Full Moon November 5 in your self-fulfillment zone forces you to do a complete
clearing and healing of yourself on all levels. Throughout November, redirect
your dietary and exercise plan to one that is long term, not a short term fix.
Meditation, yoga and psychotherapy heal your inner child as well as awaken your
mental giant within.
Aquarius (January 21 – February 19)
Get up from your desk and that computer and move around in October. RSI, eye
strain and muscle cramps are all in your foreseeable future if you don’t
take a break. Take a long weekend around the Full Moon October 7, when you may
feel overwhelmed with all the things you know you have to do – and soon.
Mercury, the communicator out of phase October 28 – November 18 in your
career zone could have you wringing your hands in despair when that promotion
slips through your hands. It wasn’t meant to be – move on. Watch
that you don’t skip meals, sleep or exercise in November, with an emphasis
again on your job, you might be clocking up overtime and neglecting yourself.
A brand new work opportunity comes around the New Moon November 21 and you’ll
be glad you didn’t get that promotion.
Pisces (February 20 – March 20)
You’re in the cosmic groove for most of October, as the planets line
up in harmony with your sign. October 1 Mercury, the planet of clear thinking
makes headway in your deep thinking zone and you solve your own dilemma –
priceless. If you’re unable to hit the gym, walk – anywhere and
everywhere, take the stairs instead of the lift and use your groceries as your
dumbbells – it all counts. Once Mercury goes out of phase October 28 –
November 18, you’ll get caught up in mundane dramas and will definitely
need a massage November 5, when a Full Moon in your siblings and communications
zone screams family meeting/intervention. Although you may feel that work and
responsibilities keep you hostage in November, do take periodic breaks. Pick
one day each week to take a long hike, have dinner with a friend or indulge
in a romance novel or trashy magazine before falling into bed.
Aries (March 21 – April 20)
The emphasis on your eighth house of transformation and renewal in October
and November suggest that if there are things in your wellness profile that
you want to change – from liver congestion to personality patterns, there
is no better time than over the next two months.
Plus, your once a year Full Moon October 7 is just the cosmic wake up call you’ve
needed all year long. Maybe you’ll give up drinking alcohol for a while
(or forever). Go caffeine/dairy free? A new fitness friend (possibly a Libra)
you meet around the New Moon October 22 helps you embark on the ‘new you’
and becomes a real mentor for you on the road to health and sobriety. In November,
your ruler Mars, the planet of ‘just do it’ remains in your relationship
zone and you draw sustenance from being at the gym, in class and mingling with
like minded ‘on the road to wellness’ worshippers like yourself.
Taurus (April 21 – May 21)
Your energy level is high and your health good, particularly during the first
half of October. Always been too timid to try the boot camp class on offer at
your gym? Give it a go in October – take it nice and slow of course. If
you’ve never indulged in a private trainer or nutritionist, this is the
time to invest in one. You’re open to new ideas to your exercise/diet
program and can benefit from restructuring your health goals now for the coming
year.
Once Mercury goes awol October 28-November 18, other people and their issues
invade your space and you won’t have as much free time to do the things
you want to do. See if you can’t get your friends/family in need to walk
and talk – at least you get a work out while trying to solve their problems!
You might need someone to confide in yourself around November 5, when your once
a year Full Moon brings with it the need to cut something or someone out of
your life – permanently. In fact, working out with a friend (Scorpios
are good) is the way to go throughout November and you will really hit it off
with someone new around the New Moon November 21.
Gemini (May 22 – June 21)
Pay close attention to your body’s signals in October. Venus and Mars
spend time in your self-fulfillment zone, so chances are, you’ll be living
la vida loca more than usual. If you find yourself crawling out of bed in the
morning or struggling through your workout, maybe it’s time to start focusing
on the less is more (of everything) philosophy. Double up on the vitamins and
supplements around the New Moon October 22, just before your ruler Mercury goes
out of phase October 28 – November 18 in your sixth house of health and
well-being. Mercury retrograde brings with it stress and unexpected complications,
so don’t freak out if you lock yourself out of your house or lock your
kids in the car. Stay calm! You’ll get a new burst of energy November
21 when a New Moon in your health zone brings with it a relaxing new class you
can unwind in and even laugh at all those silly things that happened to you…
Cancer (June 22 – July 22)
Stick with the program in October, even if you’re bored out of your mind
with the treadmill or Jenny Craig meals or whatever…consistency is in
and will bring results. It will be all too easy to get distracted by work stuff
around the Full Moon October 7 – it’s your coworker’s problem,
not yours, so keep out of it! And later in October, with a New Moon on the 22nd,
you don’t have to come to a family member’s rescue yet again. Once
the planet of clear thinking and communication Mercury goes out phase in your
romance and happiness zone October 28-November 18, be prepared for silly squabbles
with your partner, kids and friends to arise out of nowhere. If you feel yourself
out of control, do something totally relaxing around the Full Moon November
5 – put that day aside for you time. Watch that you don’t injure
yourself horsing around with your kids/dog or your partner (or all 3) mid-November.
Once the New Moon shines on your romance zone November 21 and Mercury is back
in action, all will be forgiven, forgotten and single Cancers may even meet
someone worth meeting…
Leo (July 23 – August 23)
Get outdoors as much as possible in October, with Mars and Venus hyping your
high energy zone. Horse riding, bike riding and good old walking put a smile
on your face and a spring in your step. Try to take off for a few days hiking
or indulging yourself at a spa with an Aries around the New Moon October 22.
Once Mercury, the thinktank of the zodiac goes out of phase October 28 –
November 18 in your home and family zone, you could be dealing with sibling
drama (your sister decides she’s leaving her husband and moving in with
you) or one of your kids plays up. Or your DIY home renovations go horribly
wrong…you end up with a cricked neck, sore muscles and a big mess. Needless
to say you need to stay positive and keep up the exercise and diet program you
are committed to. By the New Moon November 21, things have calmed down. Put
down that comfort food and start thinking about summer – BBQ’s,
bikinis and school holidays (yuk).
Virgo (August 24 – September 23)
Play is the key word for you in October. You need time off, and you need to
spend it enjoying yourself. Schedule in a mani/pedi at an upscale salon, with
maybe a massage or facial to follow. The New Moon October 22 turns the spotlight
on you and your self-esteem. Drop the kids off with family or friends and go
shopping for new clothes and accessories for YOU. Or go and see a movie no one
else wants to see (Gold Class style). You deserve it. Later in the month, your
ruler Mercury, the planet of logic (which you thrive on) retrogrades in your
communication zone. Actions speak louder than words October 28-November 18 and
anything you do say could be misconstrued – so think carefully before
opening your mouth! The New Moon November 22 brings with it a chance to refinesse
your exercise regimen. Sick of spinning classes or your personal trainer? Try
something new and hire someone fresh!
