Inner noise is the chattering Brain Noise that everyone says just never stops night or day. It keeps on coming through your mind automatically whether you want it or not. Its impossible to really get in touch with the inner you, your voice of inspiration, which gives you the secure feeling of having focus and clarity to make the right decisions. If you have chaos and confusion going on in your mind, you are jumping from one thing to another. Its difficult to come to any conclusions on the important issues in your life, as your brain noise has got a hold of your mind and is taking it and you for a joy ride. So heres how we can gain control of that brain chatter when we need to be clear and focused.
The technique:
Close your eyes so you can have total concentration on what you are doing.
Take 3 deep breaths. In through your nostrils and exhale out through your mouth, 3 times, deep breaths not just little shallow ones.
Really concentrate on your breathing.
Now imagine
that your thoughts are coming in through the left-hand side of your brain, this is the more logical practical side of the brain.
And then imagine that your thoughts are passing through and going out the right-hand side of your brain, this is the more intuitive, inspirational and creative side.
At this stage is it important that you do not hold onto any thoughts, just let them float through and out the other side. There will be some persistent thoughts which just do not want to go through so this is when you have some self talk and you ask the thoughts to be filed at the back of your mind and to come back at a more appropriate time. These are important thoughts that you do not want to let go of, thoughts that need definite action, things you may have forgotten until now because your mind has been too active to let them through. Once you feel you are a lot less cluttered in your mind you can then open your eyes and go about gaining the clarity to the issues that were being clouded before you started.
This is a quick exercise and can also be performed with your eyes open, however it is recommended to practice with your eyes closed to gain greater concentration. Use this exercise to gain more clarity on any issue that is bothering you or to help you sleep at night.
