How do you keep that special spark in a relationship, that feeling when your heart misses a beat, and when your mind inevitably works it’s way back to the last special moment you spent together, just you and your love-mate.
The key to keeping love intoxicating is to make every date a Romantic Rendezvous, and here’s how to do it.
- Weather you’re on a physical date or online, to catch and hold the attention of your special or prospective love-mate, your voice needs to smile and your eyes need to sparkle. When you smile, make sure your whole face lights up, and it doesn’t matter if they can’t see you, they’ll be able to tell the difference.
- Be the most interesting person at the party or online by asking questions. Keep the focus on them, make them feel special and let them know you’re interested in them and they have your full attention, there’s nothing more appealing!
Many couples think that once you’ve been together for a while the romance doesn’t matter because you’ve moved onto another level of the relationship. Not true, in fact, romance is one of the magic ingredients, which keeps love strong whether you’ve been together 2 days or 20 years.
It’s the romance that can keep a relationship interesting. It keeps the spark alive, and after all, you loved the romantic side of the relationship when you first got together so why would you want to let it go. And it’s not just the women who love the light-heartedness of a flirtatious romantic moment; men love it too.
Here are some tips to spark-up, or re-invent the romance in your relationship.
Love Notes. Send cards to your lover; post them so they get them in the mail, and send electronic cards, even if you live together or see each other regularly. Or just put one of those little sticky notes in their diary saying, “I love you” or “Thinking of you” or “Your Special”.
Flowers. Girls love flowers, always have and always will. Also men can be sent a single flower with a note saying how much you love or respect them, or just to say thank-you for something you thought was special.
Dinner for Two. No kids, no friends, no neighbours, no family, nobody but the two of you. It doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive, stay home, take the phone off the hook, have your favourite dinner, light the candles and enjoy each others company.
Touchy Feely Stuff. Hugs, kisses, and put your arm around each other or just hold hands. Unless you particularly don’t like the touchy feely stuff, this is going to put a smile on most people’s faces and hearts.
Verbal Reassurance. Tell your partner how much you appreciate them, how much you love them and are proud of them. Don’t assume they already know it, words mean a lot and can covey such heartfelt feelings, which have a lasting impression.
Tongue-tied. When you're trying to impress that special someone, and you cant think of a word to say, try touching their arm gently to show your warm personality.
There are many ways to be romantic and show someone you care and it doesn’t have to take a lot of time or money. Even if you’re busy, a simple phone call, quick email or short note can say more than you think. It says, you mean a lot to me and I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you. Try it, and see for yourself, you might be pleasantly surprised at the response you get!
