Take Time for Love This Holiday Season
What happens to the days, weeks, or months that use to lead up to the holiday season? With friends, children, families, work functions, study and everything else that’s crammed into your day is there ever enough time for you and your relationship? Even though it is such a joyful, wonderful time of the year, many relationships become very strained and stressed for the reason that there is just so much more to do and no extra time available to do it all. For singles, you can get so caught up in what you have to do and with ticking off your to–do–list, that putting aside time to go out and enjoy yourself can slide to the bottom on your priority list. Here are some easy ways for couples to gain some ’quality’ time together and for singles to put aside some precious time for yourself, without seriously interfering with your jam–packed holiday schedule .
Deepen Your Bond
• Write daily and weekly activity to–do lists to help keep you organized and pencil in one date night per week with your honey or a night out on the town for friends.
• Develop an “appreciation ritual”. Exchange a love note once a week expressing ways to respect, admire, and love one another, or if you are single, make a note each day of the quality in someone you are looking to attract.
• It seems simple to point out your partners faults, but what about their good traits? Make an effort to say three positive things for every negative thing you might think or believe.
Multi Tasking
• Grab your sweetie and your cell phone and head out doors. Utilize technology and complete some of your holiday shopping via telephone call. While you are working out with your partner you can also cross off some gifts on your holiday list!
• Looking for love, go to places where you can shop and meet people, keep you eye on who’s around you, and not just on your shopping experience.
• Invite your lover over for a baking date night. You can bond in the kitchen while making all your favorite holiday treats together. End the night by sending them home with a delicious goodie bag filled with both of your fabulous creations.
• If you are fancy free, invite your friends over for a pre holiday get together and encourage them to bring something as well as a friend, you just never know who you might meet!
• Couples can cuddle up on the sofa and catch up on your favorite television shows and during commercial breaks work on signing and sealing your festive holiday greeting cards.
Feel Good Tips
• After a hectic day of running around in the holiday crowds, un–wind by treating each other to a relaxing massage.
• Treat yourself to something nice, keeping your image up to date is a great way to stay attractive and feel good about yourself. The better you feel about yourself the easier it is to attract someone special into your life, people love to be around confident and self assured people.
• If you have family in town and have to be away from your partner or friends for some time, be sure to send a text or e–mail. They will be glad to know that you are thinking of them and you took the time to make sure they knew that.
• Keep a daily journal, which includes things in life that you cherish, love, appreciate and what you are grateful for in your life, your relationship, and most importantly the type of relationship you would like to attract.
Time Out
• Have a regular weekly night alone if possible. If you are in a relationship, it will make the next time you see each other even more special. The feeling of missing someone, even for a few hours reminds you that you don’t ever want to be without them. If you are single, it gives you some breathing space to reflect on your life.
• Light some candles, open your favorite bottle of wine, and enjoy a luxurious bath with your honey, or just by yourself. This is you time, put a do–not–disturb sign on the door.
• Block out time to do nothing, sleep in, chill out and go with the flow.
Creating time for you, your relationship, or even your heart is a guilt ridden selfish task for some, however, if you don’t look after your relationship then who will? Not only should you feel fantastic, but you’ll have more of an understanding of each other and a deeper bond. Enjoy this holiday season and celebrate it together with a warm heart and a big smile, and if you’re single, don’t forget to put time aside to meet someone special, with the holiday spirit being high and festive, this is perfect time to get out and met new people. After all, you deserve to be honored and nurtured just because you’re you!
