My name is Kate and I am a qualified counsellor with 12 years of practice.
In offering you counselling, I see my role as being a confidante and friend; being available to listen to your concerns, offer alternative ideas that you might not have thought of and work with you to identify the issues you want or need to address and/or help you to reach decisions.
If you’re feeling confused or just lacking the confidence to deal with the difficulties you’re facing, my aim will be to empower you and support you in resolving your issues in a way that best suits you and is comfortable for you.
I will not direct you or tell you what to do. I will be your support person. I may also refer you to appropriate agencies or health professionals if we agree that other specific resources would be of benefit and if you wish to follow that up. However, I will be available on an on-going basis also.
I obtained my social science degree, majoring in psychology, from Monash University Melbourne in 1993. My experience was gained firstly at Lifeline, Melbourne and for the past 13 years I have utilized my skills in a health related field. My training and experience previous to social science was in nursing.
Whilst I am currently employed part-time in a health setting, I deal with a variety of issues. I can help you with:
- Relationships – intimate, family, other
- Grief & loss
- Career
- Anger & other personal issues
Spend a few minutes with me to be confident that I’m the right counsellor for you.
