It seems like I have been counselling people for most of my adult life: my
friends and family always came to me with their problems not because I could
solve them but so that I could give then strategies for coming up with their
own solutions. It’s no surprise that I have gone down this path…
One of the subjects I majored in for my Bachelor of Arts degree was Psychology
~ this gave me a good grounding for my work not just as a teacher of Personal
Development but later as a Psychotherapist. I studied various traditional counselling
techniques such as Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Rational
Behavioural Therapy. My post-graduate studies include wide reading and numerous
workshops, lectures and short courses which helped me to acquire extra skills
(visualisation techniques, assertiveness training, ways of increasing self-esteem,
strategies for self-empowerment and meditation techniques for example) so that
I can help you to recognise and resolve the issues that are so far preventing
you from moving ahead and leading the life you have always wished you could.
I can teach you techniques for correcting faulty thinking, show you how to repair
your relationships and help you plan how to function effectively in all areas
of your life.
People often tell me that I am a good listener: the skill of listening without
judgment encourages my clients to trust me and to feel comfortable about revealing
their deepest thoughts to me so that we can work together to change their life
for the better.
I look forward to working with you.
