One of the ordained ministers of the Spiritualists’ National Union (SNU), Margaret Preece, has tendered her resignation. She was ordained in 2008. This move proves to be not so pleasing news for the upper echelons of the organization. She had been an advocate of spirituality.

Apart from that, she also served at the local and national levels of the SNU.

Margaret has been a truly respected minister of the organization and those who have so much faith in her had been in total shock upon hearing the news. Though she had been asked to reconsider her move, she opts to stand by her decision.

“I know feel threatened by being a minister of the SNU. I cannot do the work of the spirit impeded by internal politics,” Margaret Said.

When asked about the reason why she had reached such a decision, Margaret had this explanation to the Paignton Spiritualist Church in an open letter.

“I have sufficient evidence to support the notion that one of your elected committee fulfilled his intention to remove from the committee and the church those he considered the ‘elite’, severely undermining what had hitherto been a harmonious hard-working committee whose tireless efforts at self-evident for those with eyes to see.”

“A motion before the committee to remove this member stood with a ten to one vote in favour of their removal to try and prevent this mischief. At appeal, the Spritualists’ National Union overruled this church committee motion and reinstated this committee member. This I fee was a totally irresponsible decision on the part of the appeal board of the union. It has proven to be disastrous for the church which has now lost many dedicated Spiritualists as a result.”
