Hi Molly

Sorry Im just really wanting to ask you a question rather than reply to you.

I am thinking of learning Reiki. Can you tell me a bit about your experience of training. How often did you attend, how much it cost, was it all practical and observations etc. How long did the course last. I was going to do Holistic Therapies but went to see a medium / spiritual healer a few days ago and she thought if I did them I would end up doing Reiki in the future anyway, so I should just do it now, to save a lot of work and actually she said pain, which to be honest I never picked up on at the time, but am now wondering if she meant physical pain because I do have a mild form of RSI in my hands and wrists, and gving massages could possibly aggrevate it. I trust this woman I have seen her before and she is very good. Any information would be very much appreciated.

I may actually be asking the wrong question here, I am asking because I just got caution is warranted , look deeper into this situation before proceeding further in an angel card reading for myself and Im not sure what its about, this is the main decision I have to make at the moment and I had almost decided on the Reiki. I have smaller everyday decisions to make too. Im finding it very diffiuclt to interpret the cards when I read for myself at the moment.

I hope you get some replies about crystals. I love them too.

Hi Jodee

From personal experience, I would strongly recommend you do Reiki first. If you are to specialise in another form of healing later on, Reiki training will be invaluable in anything else you study afterwards. Reiki is a form of hands on healing, so no massaging is required. As you progress in your training you will learn how to give a treatment without even touching your clients. Simply due to the fact that you will be transmitting energy to your client, this same energy will be going thro you, so is healing to the practitioner as well.

I discovered Reiki due to unexplainable paralysis of my right arm. Being right handed this was a crisis in my life and thanks to a combo of Reiki and crystals, full use of my right arm was regained without the recommended surgery!

From there the healing bug bit and continued to study various forms of alternative healing after achieving Reiki Masters, which is now used as a combo of all the various healing forms. However, without Reiki, doubt it would be very effective, as regard Reiki as what glues it all together. Over and above that Reiki seems to change your life - it answers so many questions, or did for me ...

Hope this helped.

Hi Molly

Crystals are the most amasing tool during a treatment. A red crystal is used on the base or root chakra (pelvic area); orange on the sacral chakra (belly button area); yellow on the solar plexus (base and in the hollow of the lungs); green for the heart chakra (a pink stone can also be used in the same area and rose quartz is the most commonly chosen stone); blue for throat area; purple (amythest is a good choice here) for the crown chakra (forehead/third eye). I also like to use a white stone on the forehead for those with eating disorders. Another amythest (or purple stone) can be placed above the head.

What is only more recently becoming known is that the chakras are directly linked to our endocrine system. It's almost as if chakras feed us with universal energy via these main chakras to our endocrine system.

You are right, the stones will pick you. Be sure to cleanse them properly, especially after each treatment. It is not uncommon for the stones to move during a treatment. Some guides are gentle and it feels as tho the stones have just fallen off or slipped. Other guides can be less 'tactful' and will just move the stones to where they want them/where they will do more good. So, unless you can see/know the stone shifted by mistake, don't bother too much with re-placing them.

Crystals, like people have various functions, so it is recommended that you ascertain that the stones you pick for healing purposes actually WANT to heal! A pendulum is handy for that. Ask your Reiki master to either show you how to charge the stones with Reiki, or to do it for you. They will be more effective if they have been charged with all the symbols.

There is a multitude of various crystals out there and learning them and their uses is a discovery of it's own. I have found Judy Hall to be the most practical author on crystals and their uses. Unfortunately she does not cover 'new age' stones, which feel waxy in comparison to the more traditional stones.

If you are able to find a tiger's eye, try to get one that has a hawk eye on it. These usually appear on a rounded corner of the stone and looks like an eye. This particular type of tiger's eye seem to be more 'special' and is also favoured as an abundance stone.

Stones I prefer to work with are:

carnelian - orange

jasper - yellow and red

green aventurine

rose quartz

blue lace

amythests

Amythests vary in colour. Left side of the body is regarded as feminine and right masculine. The darker amythest can be placed in the right hand and a lighter one in the left. Carnelians are particularly useful, as they do not require cleansing, so if your stones are placed with carnelian they will become recharged by the carnelian, altho it is strongly recommended you cleanse and charge your stones after each treatment.

It is very important to remember that all stones should be placed on the chakras with their sharpest point facing towards the heart. All forms of alternative healing are based on working with the heart.

Judy Hall also gives suggestions on how to do various forms of crystal therapy, as well as how to do 'readings' making use of crystals. Hee hee, as you can see, crystal therapy is amasing and wish you all the best on this new adventure :D

Hi. There are some basic cleansing recommendations. The one that seems to work the best for all stones is to place some course salt into a glass bowl filled with water and leave the stones there. My teacher used to cleanse all the stones she worked with throughout the day in this manner and would leave them in the bowl of coarse salt til the following day.

Full moon and earth charging is also great for all stone types. Amythests and rose quartz fade in too much direct sunlight. I like to put my stones outside on the ground during full moon. Also, when it rains, like to catch rain water and submerge them in the rain water.

Those that carry stones on their person need to cleanse their stones more often and find that running them under the hot tap before the water gets hot works well. This water has been boiled in the geyser, so will be more pure than the cold water tap water.

When cleansing stones 'in a hurry' usually like to rinse them off under the cold water coming from the hot tap, then place them between my palms and just mentally say "I cleanse and charge these stones".

It's really personal choice and if you find your method works for you, continue with it.

Nearly forgot to add that it is always best to ask the store you buy your stones from how best to cleanse them, as there are some, not many, but some stones that are unable to be coarse salt cleansed. It's for this reason that I prefer the full moon and earth charging the best - it's suitable for all stones.

I love them too.

hey jodee,

i got into reiki by chance i suppose it was a calling and reiki did change my life. it made me a stronger person and i believe that what is meant to be will be. i read that you have rsi and that is not an issue as it is only a spiritual healing passed through the hands and you don't necessarily place your hands on the body. there are many masters of reiki and you will find one that suits you.

cards are for me hard to interperate but they are what is best for you

hope to haer from you soon

Thanks to all who have contributed here, this is very inspiring and I feel like I have a direction now too. I was told by a clairvoyant in September that it's time to begin learning to heal and he suggested that I do something that is not widely used, to bring something new to the pool. For a while I searched but feel it's not time to find it yet and I think starting off with Reiki as suggested here would be a very good beginning.

Blessings to all and I wish you well with your learning Jodee.

With love

Hello! I am a reiki student myself and find that I wanted to know and learn the same thing!

The stones I like are Selenite and Kyanite. Selenite repairs tears and static in the aura and Kyanite's energy moves circular so it never needs charging and it actually changes negative energy into positive energy! I LOVE them!!

and if anyones interested in learning Reiki, I would suggust going to Reikiblessings that is where I learned. It is taught by a very bright young woman and you go at your own pace. No it doesn't have Reiki 1 or reiki 2 or any of that but it is a great place to learn!!!

Hi Oracle I use Selenite too but had not heard of Kyanite, I'll look it up.

I looked at that website - there are a few things on there that interest me. Thank you for posting this.

Oh my .. seems I've been away from here for too long, as this is my third attempt to get this post POSTED .. hee hee. Hpoefully this is 3rd time lucky!

Well, I too was brought to Reiki by 'accident', literally and figuratively. Have also heard that once you have been attuned with Reiki symbols you will always return to Reiki in each lifetime. When receiving Reiki attunements by your Reiki master, it is said with each attunement you receive a gift. One of mine was lucid and precognitive dreams, as well as past life dreams. So it is important to find a Reiki master you 'click' with and be attuned at some stage. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.

My hubby and I live on different continents and await immigration to be able to settle and live together. So, you can imagine my surprise when it came about we are reading books at the moment, by different authors, but who are dealing with virtually the same subject matter! I am reading a book by Z. Sitchin, where it's written the Sumarian tablets verify much of the data contained in the bible. Where archeologists needed help in locating their next dig sites, they often received valuable guidance from the Bible.

What is of interest here is that Mr. Sitchin says the Sumarian tablets, pre-date the biblical content. He also makes mention of the fact that Sanskrit is older than the Sumerian tablets. Reiki symbols, we are taught, are of Sanskrit origin. This got me to wondering how Reiki ties into the grand scheme of things, as in my opinion, it does .. somewhere, somehow.

Lo and behold, last night while we were chatting online and swopping book info, Steve told me that in his book the author writes about the sunken city found off the coast of Japan. I keep losing this post coz of trying to find links or check info to be accurate, so .. sorry, you will have to do your own research if this has prickled your curiosity. The Bimmini Road (hope the spelling is correct) and a google search on the sunken city of Japan should bring you the results you need.

In Steve's book it is wondered if this sunken city is Atlantis. Steve typed: "Those sunken ruins off the Japanese coast, he says are proven to be 9000 years older than the first "known" civilizations in Mesopotamia". For those of you interested, Steve's reading "Opening the Ark of the Covenant" by Frank Joseph and Laura Beaudoin.

This is truely mind blowing, as it got me to thinking, Reiki is derived from a Japanese word and means Universal Energy. How old IS Reiki? Is this a connection somehow that IF Atlantis is that sunken City off Japan and coz Reiki IS of Japanese origin, has Reiki come to us from so far back in time? Remember, for a while Reiki was lost to us.

Everything is linked thro time somehow and the most important of them seem to weather the sands of time. We have been left so many clues and they have lain there, waiting patiently for us to find them.

It's like, I think our Creator was brilliant. Abraham fathered 3 sons, each of which is responsible for the 3 main religions of our time. Does man appreciate the manner in which our Creator preserved records for our benefit? Oh of course not .. we totally miss the point (as usual) and go to war with one another over which religion is correct. Some religions changed biblical content. I feel the point here is that our magnificent Creator made sure there was a 'back-up' and instead of man being clever enough to throw the three main religious books together to piece the puzzle together to figure out where human error has changed things, to get a true picture, we've totally missed the point and with it prolly many lessons!

Anyhow, I digress. If this is Atlantis that has been discovered, this brings back to mind the marvel of crystals. Atlantis was powered by ginormous crystals that not only powered their city, but also their transport. Again, for fear of once more losing this post, will have to trust you will do some research on this yourselves. I THINK the link I visited for this info was crystallinks. It is also written that these crystals were programmed with the Akashic records pretty much like a computer is programmed before Atlantis sunk.

Moldavite is very rare, so expensive, but is one of the better crystals for accessing Akashic records. It also assists other crystals to raise their vibrations. Moldavite can bring you into contact with the masters and transcends time.

Selenite opens the crown and 3rd eye chakras, which helps you to access angelic consciousness. It is a very good calming stone and ideal for meditation or spiritual work. It is a very powerful crystal for the new vibration on earth. Selenite carries and imprint of all that has happened in the world. :)

I wear Kyanite on a pendant. It's changing colour. It was a gift from my sister and she marvels at how it's changed colour each time she sees me. It is very good for attunement and meditation, as well as a powerful transmitter and amplifier of high frequency energies, so it stimulates psychic abilities and intuition. It helps spiritual energy manifest in thought. This crystal connects to spirit guides and as a result brings spiritual intergrity. It is also said to promote healing dreams and can confirm this. It also aligns the chakras. In fact the list of attributes are just way too many to list here. All stone info comes from my book "The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall". I started wearing my Kyanite once more when my throat started playing up again and all is well there again.

Of all known species mankind only uses 3% of his DNA. Even a fruit fly uses more DNA than we do. Various forms of Reiki are more advanced. You need to begin with Usui Reiki and the most advanced (that I know of) is Shambala Reiki, which deals with realigning DNA. We need to get our DNA souped up to raise our vibratory levels for the next stage of our progress. The use of correct crystals is an added and affordable advantage in the arsenal available to us.

Keep on searching. For every question, there is an answer.

Hi Jodee ... try to obtain a copy of Essential Reiki by Dianna Stein. Or even Hands of Light by Barbara Brennan ... both very good books, especially the last one seeing as you have interest in auras.

...just a couple of slight corrections to the info that I was sharing with Grummy, The Bimini Road is located near the North Bimini Island, The Bahamas, and is a seperate location of underwater ruins...also, the ruins off the Japanese coast are thought to be from Lemuria, not Atlantis...the Bimini ruins are thought to be from Atlantis.

I know it can get confusing

Glad you liked the website I think its WONDERFUL!

I've been thinking about you other question and I've found an answer that works for me, you may wanna do something else but this is wat I will do. in setting up my Reiki room I would give Reiki to all the walls and tables and cabinets etc. So that you have Reiki constantly vibrating from the outside in. So sitting in your room is healing in itself. Just make the intention to charge the walls with Reiki and go!
